Q. I
find myself using the "Check Partial Solution" menu item a lot, especially when I'm
working on really hard puzzles. I sure wish it was located on a button where I could
get to it more easily.
A. No
problem. There are two "secret" keys that should give you
just what you want. Press the forward slash (question mark)
key to find out if your work is correct so far. If you find
that there are mistakes in your work you can remove them instantly
by pressing the 'F' ("fix It") key. You will be able to solve
even the hardest puzzles with a little help from the '/' key
and the 'f' key.
Q. Can I play
PathPix on my new Windows Vista computer?
A. Yes, the current
version of PathPix, PathPix 1.010, runs fine under Vista. If you own an older registered
version you can request a link to a free update by writing to kris@kpixgames.com .
Q. I like playing music
while I solve but I've played PathPix for countless hours and I know every note of the
included selections. Is there any way that I can change the music?
A.
It's easy to customize your PathPix background music. On the Links
page you will find a number of sites that have huge quantities of
MIDI files in a variety of musical styles that you can download
for free. You should be able to find there the music that is perfect
for your tastes. Just place the downloaded MIDI selections in the
PathPix MIDI folder located at C:\ Program Files \ KPixGames \ PathPix
\ MIDI. PathPix will randomly play whatever MIDI files you put there.
Not feeling in the mood for the current selection? Just click Music
Off and then click Music On to change it.
Q. I've
solved a lot of PathPix puzzles and I want to make sure that I don't lose my record of
solving them. What do I need to save when I do backups?
A. Save
the entire Players folder. Your save files, player configuration
files and game configuration files are all right there. You'll find
it at C:\ Program Files \ KPixGames \ PathPix \ Players.
Q. Where
can I find the tiger puzzle that is featured on the PathPix Home page?
A. That puzzle is part of a special fall-themed puzzlepack
called "Fall Colors". It is just one of the 22 extra packs for Registered
PathPix players that are now available for download on this page.
Questions welcome!
